WSSPC Basin and Range Province Earthquake Working Group II Recommendations

Basin & Range Province Earthquake Working Group II met in November 2011 for the purpose of making consensus recommendations to the U.S. Geological Survey on eight seismic hazard issues in the Basin & Range Province. The meeting was convened under the auspices of WSSPC, USGS, and the Utah Geological Survey. Utah Geological Survey Open-File Report 591 is the product of that meeting.
WSSPC Report 2011-01: "Tsunami Hazard Mitigation and Preparedness: A Perspective from State and Territory Tsunami Programs in the High Tsunami Risk Pacific Region" (2011)
The report, prepared by WSSPC members from Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington and the Pacific territories of Guam, American Samoa, and Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, documents the importance and effectiveness of the state and territorial tsunami programs to prepare local communities at high risk for future damaging tsunamis.

WSSPC Basin and Range Province Seismic Hazards Summits Proceedings (1998 and 2005)
In 1997 and 2004, WSSPC hosted summits to characterize seismic hazards in the Basin & Range Province and identify policies and means of communication that will effectively reduce the loss of life and property. Proceedings were published as Utah Geological Survey Miscellaneous Publications 98-2 and 05-2.

WSSPC Post-Earthquake Technical Clearinghouse Workshop Proceedings (2001)
In 2001, WSSPC held a workshop to discuss a joint post-earthquake technical clearinghouse plan for the western states besides California. Pacific Northwest Transportation Vulnerability Study (2001)
WSSPC and the US Department of Transportation (US DOT) helped fund this Project Impact study, entitled "Port to Port Transportation Corridor Earthquake Vulnerability", which contains the economic impacts of earthquakes on the Seattle-Tacoma transportation corridor. The graphics and maps are available in a 16-page color brochure titled "Port to Port Transportation Corridor Vulnerability Mitigation". The project website mentioned in the first study is no longer operational.
