The WSSPC Board of Directors established the Tsunami Committee in 1996. David Gronbeck-Jones has been on the committee since its inception. One of the first tasks of the committee was to develop a web site as a means to showcase coastal member tsunami programs and projects and WSSPC tsunami committee activities. The website also includes links to tsunami information on other websites, thus providing another avenue to tsunami information for the general public. David donated his own time to develop the "Tsunami Center" website and to maintain the site over the last 5 years.
